UGA Libraries

Students, alumni, and the general public have access to both the law library and the main library over the summer.  Check the links below for the most up-to-date information about the libraries' hours.

Other Academic Law Libraries

If you are leaving Athens for the summer, you can still access law libraries at your destination! Most academic law libraries will allow you to use their facilities and study spaces, especially for bar exam prep after you graduate.

Some rules of thumb are:

  1. Review the library's website and contact them to see what their policies are before you visit.
  2. Bring your UGA id card with you over the summer (just in case).
  3. Some libraries may require a letter from a librarian verifying that you're a UGA law student/recent grad.  Geraldine Kalim is happy to provide you with what you need.
  4. Libraries in large cities (e.g., New York) may have fees.

Public Law Libraries in Georgia

Georgia has many county public libraries that you can access over the summer or after graduation.  Some may even provide access to databases like Westlaw, Lexis, and HeinOnline.  As with academic law libraries, it's best to call or look at the library's website before you visit.
